Note: We don't sell phones, thus do not know much about this RCA phone aside from what is already outlined in this article.
If you're using a headset with an RCA 2524RE-1 phone (and this may also apply to model numbers close to that one as they are from the same series) and the phone screen says INHIBITED it may make it difficult to use with a wireless or corded headset.
Here’s what you can try to clear this message:
If you are still getting the INHIBITED message after that, make sure your headset is not plugged into the handset jack while you're trying to use the headset button on the phone. This won't work and will often cause the INHIBITED message.
To use your headset button, you’ll need a 2.5mm adaptor for your headset (or headset base) so that you can plug it into the rounded headset jack on the side of the phone. We have several 2.5mm headset adapters available! If you need help selecting the right one, just give us a call at 1-800-432-3738.
Time for a new headset?
Many RCA phone users have made the switch to the Leitner LH570, which works with the Male 2.5mm to Male RJ9 adapter cable.
