How to Activate the Headset Button on a Mitel Phone

Many Mitel phones have one button that shares both speakerphone and headset mode. In order to get this button to work for headsets, we first need to activate it

Activating Headset Mode

1. Hit the feature button (Infinity symbol or a circle with an X in it)
2. Dial 315 to activate headset mode (this deactivates the speakerphone!)
3. To answer and end headset calls, you may now press the speakerphone button

Turning the Speakerphone Back On

1. Hit the feature button (Infinity symbol or a circle with an X in it)
2. Dial 316 to activate speakerphone mode (this deactivates the headset button!)
3. You may now use this button to turn on the speakerphone

Note: Some Mitel phones use 317 as the code to both activate and deactivate headset mode

If these steps don't work, reach out to your IT Team or your phone techs. They should be able to help you program in a headset button.
