If your Leitner headset beeps constantly while on mute in Teams/Zoom, but you have to be muted for training purposes, here's a quick work-around for those who also have desk phones:
Instead of pairing a secondary mic to the base for training, let's try our favorite feature: UniBase!
Get yourself into phone mode, then press and hold the computer button on the base until that light also illuminates. This will make it so you can merge the computer and desk phone calls together. Once done, call the other person on their desk phone and have them answer with the headset and then mute from the phone.
Now the trainee can listen in, not be heard by the Customer, and also not get those beeps!
Please note: Newer Leitner headsets only beep every 5 minutes. This makes training a whole lot easier!
Also note: ALL computer sound is shared on UniBase. So, please make sure your notifications, ringers, etc. are turned off or they'll be heard on your phone calls!
